    Online Petition

We are also asking for people to sign this online petition. Your name, e-mail, and additional comments will be sent along with this letter:
We respectfully petition you to pardon Brennan James Callan, whom the jury said is guilty of partially sinking the Belle of Louisville (steamboat) in August 1997. The prosecution admitted that there were no witnesses, no fingerprints, and no hard evidence that Brennan James Callan attempted to sink the Belle.

We have followed the media coverage and believe that an innocent person is being made the scapegoat. Therefore, we ask your help in obtaining a pardon in the case of the United States of America vs. Brennan James Callan, Criminal Action No. 3:98CR-35-S, United States District Court, Western District of Kentucky at Louisville.

We believe that this is the most direct way to let those who are able to pardon Brennan know how you feel. If you would like to e-mail these elected officials directly, their e-mail addresses are listed below for convenience.

Belle of Louisville "Audit" Presented, 7 June 2000
The recent "audit" of operations at the Belle of Louisville and Spirit of Jefferson has been completed, and is ready for review.

    (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader)

This site linked above is refered to as the "Audit" of the Belle of Louisville, however, members of the Jefferson County and City of Louisville governments have admitted to me personally that "this document is only an 'OPERATIONAL REVIEW' AND NOT AN AUDIT BECAUSE AN AUDIT WOULD ACTUALLY SHOW PRECISELY WHO WAS AT FAULT FOR EACH AND EVERY SITUATION. THE OPERATIONAL REVIEW ONLY COST APPROXIMATELY $4,500.OO AND A LEGITIMATE AUDIT WOULD HAVE COST MUCH MORE." [emphasis mine].
